Calvin Brown is a proud U.S. Army veteran and a former IRS Senior Revenue Agent, and IRS International Tax Law Specialist.  While working for the IRS, Calvin gained extensive experience analyzing complicated tax issues and preparing position papers; examining, preparing and negotiating cases involving domestic and international corporations; resolving tax cases; and gathering evidence, evaluating and prescribing courses of action for civil and criminal prosecutions.   Calvin used his foundation of discipline, hard-work, integrity and strategic mindset imparted from the Army coupled with knowledge, skills, abilities learned from the IRS to build C. Brown & Associates, Inc. (“CBA”), a full-service accounting, tax, and business services firm serving clients throughout the Washington Metropolitan Area.

Calvin astutely established and continuously cultivates partnerships and strategic relationships allowing him to better serve individual, business, nonprofit, unions, faith-based organizations, and government clients.  Calvin also sees networking as a core component to help clients in areas outside of his purview. Calvin is professionally and personally regarded as a competent, sincere, honest and trusted advisor.

Over the 50 years the firm has been in operation, Calvin has also contributed his problem-solving and decision-making skills to serving as a board member for a bank, hospital, healthcare organization, revenue authority, fire department, and a government oversight panel.  His board service ranged from leading committees to chairman.  He brought his leadership, financial acumen and governance skills to his role as Chairman of the Prince George’s Revenue Authority markedly improving its financial position from $33M to $175M in 12 years.  These long‑standing affiliations reflect his commitment to community service and his strong relationships within local government and the business community—relationships that enhance the value he brings to every client engagement. 

As a life-long resident of Prince George’s County, Maryland, Calvin enjoys playing golf when not working.
