Calvin Brown is a U.S. Army veteran and tax accountant, financial services and property management expert, who has strategically established and cultivated vital alliances and partnerships within the local government and business communities in Prince George’s County, MD and, therefore, uniquely positioned to offer highly-personalized tax, accounting, financial and property management services.

A life-long resident and avid golf-player in Prince Georges’ County, MD, he has owned and operated C. Brown & Associates, Inc. - a full-service tax and accounting office located in Upper Marlboro, Maryland for the past 33 years.  Most notably, his services are fortified by his training and having worked for the Internal Revenue Services (IRS) for 9½ years, as Senior Revenue Agent and International Tax Law Specialist; there, he gained unsurpassed behind-the-scenes experience resolving taxation cases under U.S. Income Tax Treaties with foreign governments; he was charged with analyzing complicated tax issues and preparing position papers on behalf of the U.S. Government and communicated to/with foreign authorities.  He examined, prepared and most often negotiated cases involving both domestic and international corporations operating in the U.S. through subsidiaries or branches, also gathering evidence, evaluating and prescribing courses of action in civil and criminal prosecution; so his clients get the benefit of his very valuable inside working knowledge of the IRS.

Calvin Brown’s broad background in tax, accounting and finance essentially certifies his ability to assist ongoing in resolving complex tax and challenging business issues, which, of course, results in long-standing and trusted relationships – involving representing clients before tax authorities, preparing tax returns and other required reporting, tax compliance, fiscal monitoring, forecasting, preparing financial statements, setting up integrated financial accounting systems (payroll, receivables/payables, reconciliation), developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures manual, maintaining payroll reporting systems, project, property and board  management, setting up and training in accounting systems, including general back-office accounting administration, equipping clients (employers) to better manage legal and regulatory responsibilities.
